Butter Sweet is hosted on the Shopify eCommerce platform, which uses a secure online payment system that accepts MasterCard, VISA, Diners Club and American Express cards. We also accept PayPal (excluding eCheque) and Shop Pay payments. We do not use “buy now, pay later” services such as Afterpay or zipPay.
Where approved prior, corporate and event customers will generally be eligible to pay via EFT (please note, payment is still required prior to delivery).
Butter Sweet is hosted on the Shopify eCommerce platform, which uses 128-bit SSL encryption to protect customers' information during checkout. This encrypts all data transmitted between our store and your browser. Shopify is also certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant, which is the highest security standard for handling credit card information. This means that all Shopify online stores, like ours, are automatically PCI compliant. Rest assured, when you order from our website, the highest security checks have been put in place to ensure that your details will not fall into the wrong hands.
All payments are processed by our website in Australian Dollars (AUD), then converted by your financial institution based on the current exchange rate.
Yes, Butter Sweet is registered for GST and charges the current Australian GST rate of 10% on all transactions.
Most issues at checkout are caused by error (e.g. wrong sequence of numbers entered) or an issue with a customer’s bank account or financial provider (e.g. insufficient funds, expired credit card, bank outage). Please check your card and account details in the first instance, including touching base with your financial provider (where necessary).

Confirmation emails are automatically generated by our website at checkout and sent to the email address entered when placing an order. Your confirmation email may have been filtered to the junk/spam folder in your mailbox. If, after checking all mailbox folders, you’re unable to locate your confirmation email, please reach out to us at hello@buttersweet.com.au and we can manually resend a copy of your confirmation email via our website.
If we are unable to locate your order in our system, but a charge is showing on your bank account, this is due to an attempted payment failure and is a hold on funds that was placed by your bank. In this instance, we do not have an order from you, including any amount of payment. Most of the time, failed payment attempts will appear as a pending charge; however, some financial institutions may display the charge as a regular charge. These charges, regardless of status, appear for a short time on your account before they are reversed. The amount of time that the charge appears on your account depends on your bank. Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfil your order or refund your money, as we do not have any order or payment to do so. You will need to successfully place an order through our website (for order fulfilment) or contact your bank to confirm when the hold is removed and funds released (for return of funds).
If you believe you have been charged twice for an order, please contact us at hello@buttersweet.com.au for assistance. We will review our system for duplicate orders and confirm our findings with you. A refund will be issued where a duplicate order is located and confirmed. Processing times for refunds vary between financial institutions, and may take up to 10 days to process, depending on your bank.

At the checkout page, under Order Summary select "Discount". Enter your unique Butter Sweet code under "Discount code”, and click "Apply discount".

Promotions are exclusively offered to our email list subscribers, who are the first to receive unique deals, discounts and offers. Join our mailing list and reap the benefits!
We choose to opt out of the annual sales that are driven by big businesses, such as EOFY, Black Friday etc., as those types of sales are typically detrimental to small businesses. As we’re primarily a food-based business, our product costs are stable (or more likely to increase) throughout the year, so running regular sales is not something that is feasible for our business. We may run the occasional flash sale, at our discretion, which will be first advertised via email to those subscribed to the Butter Sweet email list, before dissemination on social media. eGift cards are available for purchase through our website. These are not physical gift cards and will not be posted or hand delivered to the recipient.
eGift cards are sent to the nominated email address. We do not post or hand deliver physical copies of gift cards. Following purchase, an email with a unique code will be sent to the email address nominated with purchase.
In line with Australian Consumer Law, your gift card expires three years after the date of purchase and supply.
At the checkout page, under Order Summary select "Gift Card". Enter your unique gift card code in the space provided. If the balance available on the gift card is greater than or equal to the order total, then you can click “Complete order”. If the balance available on the gift card is less than the order total, you will be prompted to choose an additional payment method for the balance before placing the order. This includes adding another gift card.

Please note:
• A gift card can be spent across multiple orders provided there is still a balance on the gift card.
• Gift card balances are applied to the total value of an order, which includes GST and delivery fees.
• Gift cards can be used together with discount codes.
• Multiple gift cards can be used on a single order.
• A gift card cannot be used to buy another gift card.
In the first instance, check that the gift card has not expired. Then, using the link provided in the initial gift card purchase email, check the balance of your gift card. Finally, check that the unique code entered at the checkout page matches the unique code that was emailed to you.
